The Point on the River

2/26/2009

The unveiling of The Point on the River condominiums occurred tonight. This event ushered in the grand opening of this 12-story loft conversion to bankers and real estate brokers. The Point on the River offers buyers the opportunity to live an upscale, urban lifestyle at one of downtown Milwaukee's most desirable locations with easy access to the Third and Fifth Ward riverwalk, shopping and dining.

The Point on the River located at the confluence of the Milwaukee and Menomonee rivers is the new moniker for the formerly named First Place on the River condominiums.  The project has come a long way toward completion, based on the efforts of the development team led by Milwaukee-based Mandel Group. In partnership with Chicago-based real estate sales and marketing firm Garrison Partners.

The development located at 106 West Seeboth Street offers 147 soft-loft units ranging from 700 to 4,000 square feet in one, two or three bedroom configurations. Prices start at $163,900 all the way up to $1.5 million for the penthouse. Amenities include 10-foot ceilings, oversized balconies or terraces, heated indoor parking and access to a range of community rooms.

Garrison Partners engaged the services of Sorensen Design Group to fully merchandise the common areas to be enjoyed by residence and guests. These areas include the first and second floor lobbies, fitness center, residence board room and social networking lounge.  Artwork was furnished throughout the development with the elevator banks expertly merchandised to complete the theme of this true urban soft-loft lifestyle.

The first and second floor lobbies immediately capture the essence of upscale urban living with an eclectic mix of design styles harmonized by rich colors and a playful blend of modern shapes.  The Resident Board Room and Business Center includes a 50” video display panel, complete wet bar and wireless connectivity for maximum productivity in a relaxed and sophisticated environment.

The Social Networking Lounge features a Texas hold'em table, professional pool table that has a removable ping-pong top, 14-ft. shuffleboard table, 50-inch flat screen TV, stereo system with iPod dock, and a full-service kitchen for entertaining. The exclusive Fitness Center is furnished with a 50” flat screen TV plus on-board equipment TVs, treadmills, elliptical machines, free-weights and a bevy of exercise equipment to stay fit and trim. Artwork and accessories positioned throughout the complex add that finishing touch to this modern interpretation of soft-loft urban living.

“This project benefits from a lot of positive attributes and is receiving a tremendous reception in the marketplace. We are enjoying the highest velocity of sales of any condominium development in Milwaukee. We are convinced that this will be the comeback kid of the year story,” said Mandel Group chief operating officer Robert Monnat.
